The goal of this wiki is to share information about the Youth Rights movement and popularize it. This is to be done in a civil manner, and in accordance to all applicable laws. The server is hosted on an German provider with assistance of two American ones by a Polish person. Everything is shared on a free license unless explicitly mentioned otherwise.

Rules

edit

No rule is set in stone. The spirit of the rules is always above the letter. Don't bend or try to work around the letter of the rules. If a rule harms working towards the goal ignore it. Except when the rule is problematic, then change it. Rules can be changed or interpreted by consensus.

Conduct

edit

Respect others. Do not engage in personal attacks. Be welcome to newcomers. Assume that others are acting in good faith unless there is a reason to think otherwise. Use common sense. However remember that common sense is not common. It is possible to disagree what is or isn't common sense. Using multiple accounts to pretend to be multiple people to affect discussions or hide disruptions if prohibited. Consider some newcomers could have lurked on the wiki (or wikis with similar policies, potentially under a different username) before joining. Do not disrupt this wiki to prove a point. Before doing anything, consider the consequences of your actions. Once you post something, it may stay in the history forever. If you are doing something that would take a lot to undo, make sure there is consensus to do it first. Do not share information about others that you reasonably believe they want to be kept private. Unless that is necessary for preventing serious misuse. Do not post content completely off-topic. This includes userspace. Bans can be used against a person acting in bad faith or to stop a disruption. Bans should be kept as short as reasonable. People are not to be prevented from reading the wiki, but from contributing to it. All bans are appealable.

Consensus

edit

Decisions should generally be made by consensus. Disagreements should be solved by discussion. Editors should show their point of view. Users who created or contributed to pages don't have the right to dictate their contents. However, their insight should be considered as they may have more information about the topic. The goal is to choose an outcome that satisfies the most editors, considering the weight of the arguments. If holding a discussion would be seriously problematic, the admin makes a decision. In an emergency or other similar circumstances an admin can overrule consensus and any rules. Consensus can change over time.

Content

edit

This is not an encyclopedia. Content is to be written to be in line with youth rights. This means we don't necessarily aim to maintain a neutral point of view. What is mentioned as facts should be true. All claims about facts should ideally have sources. Exceptional claims about facts can be removed until a source is provided. Source synthesis is acceptable. Self-created sources (such as video recordings) are acceptable. However such sources are easier to be considered to biased, or manipulated, etc. Do not include contents with an incompatible license except for fair use. Attribute the work properly. Works of fiction and satire can be required to be marked as such if there is an extremely high risk of that content to be believed to be true and that would harm the goalcircumstances. Personal accounts of editors and essays are welcome, but personal accounts should generally be kept in userspace.
